Start the day like royalty! Taste and Learn about the Cava from a Sommelier
Cava is a sparkling wine that is the national drink of Catalunya. Essentially a less hyped-up version of the French champagne, Cava is a delight that every foodie and wine-lover should try on their trip to Barcelona. The Catalans toast with champagne on special occasions and holidays, but the bubbly drink is also great as an aperitif.
As Marlena Dietrich has said: ¨Champagne... it gives you the impression that every day is Sunday.¨ So why not start the day with tasting the magic of Catalan Cava and celebrating your time in Barcelona?
The tour meets in the office of Foodie&Tours in the charming Gothic quarter. The group will walk through the narrow streets of the neighborhood, discovering hidden paths and squares untill the location of the tasting will be reached. Led by our sommelier, who has had experience at two Michelin star restaurants, you will taste 3 different types of cavas - varying in color, taste, and region of production. You'll also learn everything from the origins of cava, to its production, and its little trade secrets. Dessert is the perfect accompaniment to cava, and there's nothing better to start the day with a glass of cava on one hand and the creative pastries of Catalan chef Carles Mampel in the other hand.
This tour is great for foodies and wine aficionados to taste different types of cava and get an orientation to the world of Cava.
